Here’s what my clients have to say:

“Tzipporah has two qualities that have helped me start to get my life back. She manages to get me to work harder and longer in an easygoing and positive way. I’ve told her that she seems like a cheerleader when she encourages me to keep working.

Secondly, she cares. When I passed a swallowing test recently, she seemed as happy as I was. Her involvement in my progress is more than superficial. She wants me to get better. That guides her treatment and works to my benefit.

I couldn’t have found a better swallowing therapist.”

Ed Hass

Client

“Tzipporah was gentle, kind and understanding. She made something that would normally be uncomfortable, tolerable!

The test was about a half hour long, she made it go by very quickly. Tzipporah then went through the test with me after identifying the issue and answered all of my questions. We then had a quick session to work on my swallow issues.

She is truly a special person and I highly recommend Tzipporah Neuman to anybody with a speech or swallow disorder.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas do you serve?
My main base is in the Rockaways and Nassau County, but I do go further on occasion. Please be in touch about servicing specific areas.
What’s the difference between your service and using an agency?
While some agencies may have experienced therapists, it is important to be aware that many agencies are forced to send therapists without the ideal level of experience in treating swallowing disorders. At Tzipporah Neuman Speech & Swallowing you always get a seasoned therapist with many years of experience as well as a high level of attention to detail and care.
Do you serve nursing homes or only private patients?
Yes, I serve nursing homes and rehab centers as well as private patients.
How long does the FEES assessment take?
About 30 minutes.
Do you take Medicare?
My therapy services are covered by Medicare Part B.
Why is the FEES assessment important?
The swallow mechanism is not something we can see from outside. In order to know what the source of the problem is, we need to use this special test which looks inside the throat during the swallowing process and pinpoints sources of difficulty. The actual type of therapy needed will vary depending on the impairments highlighted by the test. By doing the FEES evaluation, we can be sure that the therapy is targeting the core issue.
Do you provide teletherapy?
Yes. Contact me for more details.
How many times a week can I expect therapy sessions?
After assessment, we’ll discuss your specific needs. Most people need 2-4 sessions per week but it is very individual.
How long is each session?
Sessions can be between 30-60 minutes depending on the patient’s needs.
Do you do therapy or only assessment?
I do therapy as well as assessment. I’m happy to talk to you about your requirements.
Do you work with children?
No. I work with adults who are struggling with speech or swallowing disorders.
